Our name “Gallang”

“Gallang” is a word from the Jagera Nation and means “healing”. Permission was granted by Jagera Elder, the late Senator Neville Bonner AO to use this word for our counselling service.

Gallang Education and Training (RTO # 40564)

Gallang Education and Training (GET) is the registered training arm of Gallang Place, a highly respected non-profit organisation that has been providing support and counselling services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people since 1994.

By delivering nationally accredited professional training programs for counsellors we are fulfilling our vision supporting healthy social and emotional well-being in every Indigenous community, for stronger families and for future generations.

Gallang Place

Gallang Place Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Corporation was established in 1994 to meet the emotional and social well-being needs of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community and felt it was well placed to provide training in the social emotional and well-being sector.

Course Delivery 
Our courses are now delivered in a blended style – online with Zoom and face-to-face where possible.
Delivery is a week at a time, with a 6-8 week break between blocks
This allows for Volunteer, Casual, Part-Time and Full-Time workers.
